With the release of Jimmy Funtime, I find myself asking the question of whether this is a Paranormal Thriller or simply Horror. The book features a psychic, which could make it paranormal. It also features one heck of a scary murderer, a guy so warped he scared me while I was writing him. It also scared the people around me, who started looking at me funny.
I have little of it. People are often surprised when I tell them that. I rarely plan out further than a chapter, and let events move where they will, driven more by the character than anything else. In the case of Jimmy Funtime, the villain kept moving into darker and darker areas and I just rolled with it. I considered scaling things back, but felt that was dishonest. If a guy is warped, he's warped.
Some people obviously liked it. The book has only a few review but they've been, for the most part, generous, and I appreciate that.
I'm 10,000 words into the next one. We'll see where that goes. In the meantime, check out my author page for the complete list of Cassie Reynold Psychic Thrillers.
